Thyme It Will Grow On...

Life's Rollercoaster

And so the wheel of time turns once more, bringing its usual crop of endings and beginnings. So reflect well on what changes have occurred in your life this last year, and do your best to heed the lessons you have witnessed. The endless rollercoaster of life will march on, I hope you will all stay with it in the forthcoming year, and that it doesn't bring you too many sudden dips.

Ride it well friends.

Tempus Fugit

For thyme it is a precious thing
And thyme it will grow on
Aye and thyme it will bring all things to an end
Aye and so does my thyme grow on.

It Feels Like Christmas...

It arrived, right on schedule, I'm exhausted with preparation - but happy to see people smiling today. Christmas is love. From a close resemblance of a large absent-minded spirit, I bid you all a very Merry Christmas, hope you feel loved today, and be sure to show your love for others.

Large Absent-minded Spirit

It's in the singing of a street corner choir
It's going home and getting warm by the fire
It's true
Wherever you find love
It feels like Christmas

A cup of kindness that we share with another
A sweet reunion with a friend or a brother
In all the places you find love
It feels like Christmas

It is the season of the heart
A special time of caring
The ways of love made clear
It is the season of the sprit
The message if we hear it
Is make it last all year

Beaker & Bunsen

It's in the giving of a gift to another
A pair of mittens that were made by your mother
It's all the ways that we show love
That feel like Christmas

A part of childhood we'll always remember
It is the summer of the soul in December
Yes, when you do your best for love
It feels like Christmas

It is the season of the heart
A special time of caring
The ways of love made clear
It is the season of the sprit
The message if we hear it
Is make it last all year.

Christmas Spirit

It's in the singing of a street corner choir
It's going home and getting warm by the fire
It's true, wherever you find love
It feels like Christmas

It's true, wherever you find love
It feels like Christmas
It feels like Christmas
It feels like Christmas

It feels like Christmas!

-- Paul Williams, Muppet Christmas Carol (yes again! it's beautiful.)

"Yes, and every night will end, and every day will start.
With a grateful prayer and a thankful heart."

There's Only One More Sleep Till Christmas...

Say it with a song...

Kermit & Robin

There's magic in the air this evening
Magic in the air
The world is at her best, you know
When people love and care
The promise of excitement is one the night will keep
After all there's only one more sleep till Christmas

The world has got a smile today
The world has got a glow
There's no such thing as strangers
When a stranger says "Hello"
And everyone is family, we're havin' so much fun
After all there's only one more sleep till Christmas

Bean

'Tis the season to be jolly and joyous
With a burst of pleasure we feel it all right
It's a season when the saints can employ us
To spread the news about peace and to keep love alive

There's somethin' in the wind today that's good for everyone
Yes, faith is our hearts today, we're shinin' like the sun
And everyone can feel it, the feelin's runnin' deep
After all there's only one more sleep till Christmas
After all there's only one more sleep till Christmas day

-- One More Sleep Till Christmas, Jim Henson

One more day, so much to do. Hope you are all nearly ready.

Whether your midnight service is in a church, a pub, still preparing food (like me) or sitting in front of the telly - I hope you value it highly, and enjoy it well.

Yule Tidings

On this the longest night of the year, I wish you all a joyous Yule.

Joyful Yule

The winter solstice (for us northern hemisphere residents) is possibly the most important point of the year. As with all the major festivals at this time of year, they celebrate the rebirth of the light. Whether strictly as with the festivals of light, or metaphorically with the birth of Christ.

The dark days of winter have reached their zenith, and will now retreat to whence they came. Yule is a time of introspection, absorbing the wisdom and experience gained in the past year, and of celebration - the good times will return.

Holly King

In old mythology it was the Oak King (god of rebirth and light), triumphing over the Holly King (god of death and decay) - hence the Yule Log ceremony, burning a log from the largest tree (invariably the oak) as a charm to ensure a good year.

Think well on this day of your life so far, let the cold wind blow, while the years come and go - the light comes, use it well.

Peace & Love be with you all.

Earth Forever

The most common quiz thing that I ever take is the ones that decide what spirit you are: Air, Earth, Wind, Fire (sometimes a load of others Mind etc). I think I've taken about 10, they are all quite different, and not once have I got anything other than Earth. Considering the way these things work is not anything like an exact science, I think this is meaningful.

Fits in with my philosophy, I'm Terran before I'm Human.

Earth Sprite
Reserved, quiet, wise and free spirited
You are a sprite of the Earth: You have a deep
connection with the earth and all its
creatures, preferring plants and animals to
people you are quiet and reserved. You
understand things on a different level and can
often see straight through to a persons true
intentions. You are mysterious to everyone even
those in your family, they may live with you
but that doesn't mean they 'know' the real you.
Being inside the house for long periods of time
can be torture, you crave the outdoors and love
simply escaping up a tree or into the forest
where you can be free. Although you may be
smart you are easy to judge a person because
you fear what they 'may' be going to do. You
are wise in things that most overlook and you
are very creative in many aspects like art,
music, etc... Although try as they may to seek
you, you are a free spirit. Just let them try
to catch and put you in a cage.

Words run through my mind...

Your Dominant Intelligence is Linguistic Intelligence

You are excellent with words and language. You explain yourself well.
An elegant speaker, you can converse well with anyone on the fly.
You are also good at remembering information and convicing someone of your point of view.
A master of creative phrasing and unique words, you enjoy expanding your vocabulary.

You would make a fantastic poet, journalist, writer, teacher, lawyer, politician, or translator.

Well I always wanted to be a teacher, and a translator would be a dream job of mine (not that I can speak any language anywhere near well enough to translate). Parents always thought I would become a politician, but I can't lie, at all, so couldn't do it. To think, I went down the mathy/science route of education. Probably for the best, but I wish I'd stuck with the wordy subjects. First word at 5 months, that should've been the sign....

1/3 of a Year of Cinema....

So I've had my UGC Unlimited card for 4 months now, and I think I'm getting exceptionally good value for money out of it. I have proof.

4 months of cinema tickets

OK, now you may be thinking, "what a sad git, collecting cinema tickets" - and you'd be right. Not quite sure what is more sad, saving the tickets, or managing to get so many. LOL

4 months, £10 a month, so £40 worth of cinema (not including transport).

85 films watched, 2 twice, 3 missing tickets (hence 84 tickets in picture). 50 of which I watched on my own. So that means I'm a loner 59% of the time. That's not so bad, over 40% of my time in company.

It's amazing how much time you can use up if you try, I would use the word 'waste', but hey, I like movies. :)

Well, here's to the rest of eternity. May it bring many films.

[Incidently, I watched Merchant of Venice today, very good IMO]
